Nature Crafts: Make Your Own Backyard Bird Feeder    with environmental educator Robin Sanchez    Sunday, March 9, 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.    Meet inside Payson Education Center at Payson Avenue and Dyckman  Street    What better time to learn about wildlife and bird migration than at  the first sign of spring! Join Robin for a fun indoor kids program to  learn about the many native birds species, while making recycled bird  feeders and nesting bags in preparation for spring. Kids can then take  their crafts home to discover and observe wildlife right out their own  back window! Please bring an empty milk or juice carton from home  (extra cartons will be available). Explore Our Water World    with Dr. Leonissa Ardizzone of Storefront Science    Saturday, March 15, 2014, 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.    Meet inside the Payson Education Center at Payson Ave and Dyckman  Street    Northern Manhattan Parks are are surrounded by water! They are lined  by both the Hudson and Harlem Rivers and feature the High Bridge,  which was the first critical piece of NYC water system. Come discover  the many fascinating properties of water with Dr. A of Storefront  Science. We'll look at surface tension, phases of matter, the atomic  structure of water, and more through fun, hands-on science activities!    Appropriate for Ages 7-12. Year-Round and Migratory Birds of Northern Manhattan    with author Leslie Day    Saturday, March 22, 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.    Meet inside the Payson Education Center at Payson Ave. and Dyckman St.  in Inwood Hill Park    Join us for an indoor talk and slide show followed by a birding walk  in Inwood Hill Park. Learn to identify and value the flora and fauna  of Northern Manhattan with Leslie Day, author of /Field Guide to the  Street Trees of New York City/ and /Field Guide to the Natural World  of New York City/. Learn about New York's many birds and plants with  this expert naturalist. Please bring binoculars. Who's Up First? with Julia Attaway    Sunday, March 23, 1:00 p.m. - 1:45 p.m.    Meet at the entrance to the Heather Garden in Fort Tryon Park at  Margaret Corbin Circle    Children's educator Julia Attaway asks "Who's up first this spring?"  This workshop teaches children ages 4-7 to identify the first plants  of spring. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
